Lower Intensity Interval Training


Moderate to low intensity exercise using functional full-body movement - can be done unsupported or holding onto a chair. Exercise classes include aerobic, balance, strength and agility work. No floor work involved. The focus of the class is aerobic and agility exercises. Dual tasking components are included.

About the Instructors

Sally Stelling is the exercise lead at the BC Brain Wellness Program and works alongside students in the UBC Physical Therapy and Research Clinic. Her role includes assessments, exercise prescription and program development. Having obtained a Physiotherapy degree from Pretoria University, she has worked South Africa, Scotland and Canada in both public health and private practice and has experience in acute care, long term rehabilitation and outpatient settings. She brings her experience in neurological rehabilitation, orthopaedics, paediatrics, women’s health, sports injuries and geriatrics to the program. Sally is passionate about helping people function to the best of their ability, to facilitate and improve functional movement and assist people in reaching their goals.

Audrey De Boer, currently a 4th year Kinesiology student at the University of British Columbia, has a deep interest on the impact of physical activity on neurological health and wellness. Her passion for movement comes from an understanding that movement does not just physically affect our bodies, but it also has the ability to drive our mental and emotional well-being. 

Audrey is certified and accredited as a BCRPA Pilates Instructor, Older Adult Instructor and BCRPA & ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Brain Health Trainer 

She is passionate about using movement and breath to create a stronger, clearer connection to self. 

Audrey brings to her practice and her goal to empower other humans to find their strength and connection to self through movement.
