Annie Chen

Annie joined the St. Paul’s Older Adult Clinic in Dec 2023 after transitioning from an inpatient rehabilitation setting, where she worked with geriatric patients recovering from stroke. Her current role focuses on assessing the function of individuals who may be experiencing cognitive change and providing them with tools and strategies maintain independence and ability. Her role also involves providing education for clients and their support networks to promote their understanding of cognitive change and implementation of positive lifestyle habits. She works individually with clients and their family members and co-facilitates psychoeducational groups for individuals at different stages of cognitive change, including Brain Health in Action and Living Well with Mild Cognitive Impairment.

Karen Gilbert

Karen Gilbert serves as coordinator of the Dementia Caregiver Resilience Clinic (DCRC) and Early Intervention Memory Clinic (EIMC) at St. Paul’s Hospital. She has been an occupational therapist in the Older Adult Clinic for the past 24 years, primarily working with people experiencing cognitive changes and their care partners. Her current role focuses on developing, coordinating, and implementing programs to support people and their care partners to build skills, knowledge and habits to foster their brain health and resilience as early as possible across the spectrum of cognitive change. She provides individual interventions with a dementia caregivers and co-facilitates psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic groups for DCRC and EIMC
