About the Speaker: Sabine Fedder
Sabine Fedder is a Vancouver-based mixed-media artist working primarily with acrylics, watercolors, and modeling paste. Her work blends scientific precision with creative expression, informed by her background in biology and ongoing research in biomedical engineering, where she also contributes anatomical illustrations for academic publications.
Fedder’s art practice is rooted in community connection and emotional healing. Since high school, she has led art classes for seniors and children, using creativity as a tool for comfort and self-expression. In 2024, she founded a watercolor art program at BC Children’s Hospital as part of the Sibling Support Program, offering therapeutic paint nights for families of long-term care patients. She leads workshops at the Hospital each month and teaches art therapy at various retirement homes weekly.
Largely self-taught, Fedder has exhibited in numerous juried shows across Canada, including Artists in Our Midst and Paint on the Mountain, often as the youngest artist featured. In June 2025, she attended a residency in Provence, France, where she explored open-air painting and further developed her artistic voice within the region’s storied landscape.
