Wellness Wednesday: Beating the Winter Blues

For this month’s Wellness Wednesday, Dr. Lam will talk about the common symptoms of seasonal affective disorder, or feeling down and lethargic during the winter months, and how they relate to seasonal changes in biological rhythms. He will discuss management strategies for treating and preventing the winter blues, including tips for diet, activity and light exposure.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Raymond Lam

Dr. Raymond Lam is a psychiatrist, Professor, and BC Leadership Chair in Depression Research at UBC. He is also the Co-Director of the Mood Disorders Centre at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. Dr. Lam specializes in depression research and care, and is the co-editor of the CANMAT depression guidelines, the most widely used clinical guidelines for depression in the world.
