Word Wellness

A creativity-centred workshop that helps you get comfortable tapping into and using your inherent creativity. It builds a positive relationship with writing as a pathway to wellness, healing, and self-awareness. Each week we dive into simple themed exercises to grow a sustainable practice—writing without expectations to deepen self-connection and doing it in community to foster genuine belonging in a safe, welcoming space for every voice.

Who it’s for: The broader brain health community and anyone looking to explore expressive writing, reflective insight, and empowerment with a seasoned writing coach.

How it works: Workshop-style sessions draw on decades of professional writing, coaching, and facilitation to foster a confident relationship with creative expression and build a writing practice as a powerful tool for facing life, aging, and chronic illness.

Note: Please only choose either this class or Jocelyn’s Writing to Discharge the Tough Stuff & Thrive class. After the term starts and if there are still capacity, we will accommodate for registration in both classes. If you want a creativity-centred workshop that strengthens your relationship with writing and deepens self-awareness through expressive practice, choose “Word Wellness with Rebecca Gifford.” If you want an intimate, skills-based container that blends creativity with DBT-informed practices for regulation, connection, and having your story witnessed, choose “Writing to Discharge the Tough Stuff and Thrive.”
