Dan Dumsha
Dan's passion is to bring learners into the moment together, where co-creation can happen. A graduate of Queen's University Drama (B.A.H) and Artist in Community Education (B.Ed), Dan has been performing and teaching theatre and improv for over twenty years.
Using his background as a high school teacher and corporate trainer, Dan loves to apply the concepts of improv to the way teams work together. He has been training professionals in applied improv for the workplace since 2014. As a facilitator with Improv for Business, he has led successful and impactful training for teams from VanCity, Telus, PCL, ReThink, Microsoft, YVR, BC Children’s Hospital, Amazon, and many more organizations in BC and across North America.
Dan trained and went on to perform as a mainstage ensemble player at Vancouver Theatresports for seven years and taught improv on the faculty of the Improv Comedy Institute. In 2015, Dan moved to New York City with his husband Jonathan and studied improv with UCB and Annoyance Theatre. There he founded the Dirty Little Secrets Improv Show, which still runs monthly in the East Village of Manhattan. Returning to Vancouver, Dan co-founded Momentous Comedy and continues to produce improv shows across the city.
Taylor Turmel Montalbetti
Taylor Turmel Montalbetti is a Vancouver-based actor, improviser, and theatre artist with a passion for storytelling through spontaneity, connection, and play. They have been performing improv across Canada since 2008, developing a unique voice rooted in physical theatre, clown, and mask work—an artistic foundation sparked during her upbringing on Salt Spring Island.
Improvisation has always been her artistic anchor. Taylor’s work deepened after joining the cast of Paper Street Theatre Company in Victoria, BC. There, she discovered a profound love for narrative-based improv and the transformative potential of applied improvisation. Now based in Vancouver, Taylor has been an ensemble member with Tightrope Impro Theatre and a player with Regency Impro, where she also serves as Co-Artistic Director. She is the founder and operator of The Village; a one-woman initiative that brings improv and play-based practices into recovery and community care spaces within Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Beyond improv, Taylor works in scripted theatre and arts education. She has collaborated with Douglas College on several productions, most recently as Assistant Director and Dramaturg for Black Watch, and Assistant Director for the 2023 production of The Moors. She is currently directing Wild Abandon at The Vancity Culture Lab.
