In-Person Workshop – Stories Across Time: Intergenerational Creative Writing

  • Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health 2215 Wesbrook Mall Vancouver, BC, V6T 1Z3 Canada (map)

Inspired by Brandon Stanton’s street portraits and interviews in Humans of New York, Stories Across Time brings together people of different generations, cultures, and experiences to capture everyday life through storytelling.

In this in-person "taster session" workshop, you will have the opportunity to tell a story through writing in response to intergenerational questions designed to spark meaningful conversations about the small details (like morning routines, memorable interactions, or first loves) embedded in our daily lives. Together, the stories form a collective portrait of life across generations, cultures, and experiences, showing what has changed, what has stayed, and what we hope to pass on. In doing so, Stories Across Time celebrates diversity and connection while fostering creativity, reflection, and belonging.

Writing materials will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own notebook.
